Here Are 35 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Visit Australia

March 28, 2014

Here is another Viral Nova post that gave me some ideas for my Ruth stories.

I am not telling this time which of the following 35 reasons gave me ideas. You will have to guess until tomorrow’s new Ruth chapter.

Here Are 35 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Visit Australia.

The thing is that I can also think of a few reasons *to* visit down under, like Olivia Newton-John, Bindi Irwin and great food.

    • I have visited Australia several times and have always enjoyed it. The summers are a little too warm for my likes, but I enjoyed the people and sights.

As an Aussie, I had a good laugh at this. I know I don’t need to tell you how most of these things are extremely rare and one offs… It’s actually the banks and the taxation department you R.E.A.L.L.Y. need to watch out for.

However… one very true fact is we have a highly poisonous spider named the Red Back which lives nearly everywhere… Especially liking black surfaces such as the carpet in my car and on black pots that come from nurseries. They are small and you don’t see the little rotters coming. They love protected spots like your mail box and after 911 when people were freaking about getting white powder missiles in their mail, one Aussie comedian was on record as saying, “so what?” We don’t need to worry about Anthrax in the mail, we’re too busy dodging the Red Backs in the mailbox.

These are totally true facts, just Google it.

    • I have been to Australia a few times and always enjoyed my time there. Too hot in the summer for my liking, but I enjoyed being with my hosts.

The redback spiders are very similar to our black widow spiders but more toxic IIRC. Horribly nasty little things that I would not rather deal with.

Only venomous spider I need worry about here is the brown recluse which is thankfully very rare.

Though I am sure your taxation department is equally as terrifying… đŸ˜‰ It’s the humans who are always the problem, not the wildlife. Well, unless there’s a T-rex lurking.
